Platform Above Lake

This time we have levitating platform... what's next?! It's like all the illusions lately have something to do with levitation... This one was submitted by Sebastian Malm with the following explanation: "Hi there! I was looking at the website for a performance venue in the Estonian countryside and I stumbled across this amazingly cool picture. It appears that the people are standing on a platform floating in the air above the lake, and that the bridge leads upwards to the platform! Pretty awesome illusion, I must say. Very surreal. Lovely photograph." If you people find some old school illusions like dragon one, or colored squares one, be sure to submit them, since my inventory is running low lately ;)

it isnt really levitating. It is just floating on the water

the plank to the platform is angled and that combined with the reflection off the water makes it looks like the platform is levitating, really good illusion it had me confused for a minute or two.

That is cool. Beautiful scenery even if it wasn't an illusion.

I like it, it looks good and had me puzzled for a second or two, nice

actually, if you look closly, the platform is being held up and was built around the two trees. :)

This would look really amazing if someone could photoshop the reflection out of this..that would be cool. It's a great picture

If it was Photoshopped then someone would just complain, like they always do! Everyone needs to just lighten up and enjoy the pictures for what they are, cool to look at. Yes some things are Photoshopped, thats how the illusion is made. If I'm not mistaken, an illusion is anything that plays a trick on the mind, artificially made or naturally occurring. Even if you can figure it out, It still may be an illusion to someone.

yeah...to the person who first commented...no shit sherlock... :)

n the 3rd one...man...people r so cynical these days...even tho its not an illusion that takes like ten yrs to figure out, its still a pretty fun illusion to look at...so keep all those lame comments 2 yourself

I really am getting sick of some of the bloggers on this site acting like they are high and mighty since they know how the illusion is done... OBVIOUSLY the illusions aren't real, they are just there to make your eyes go "wait, what?" until they figure out how it really works. So just sit back and let your eyes get some exercise.

Great picture. The platform isn't being help up; look at the reflection of the Platform it lines up perfectly. The bridge is just angled.

The really puzzling thing is why this guy was looking for a performing venue in the Estonian Countryside...

Cool. And you don't have to show off that you know how it works by saying it is lame.

i agree, it's a cool pic, just enjoy it.

that said, it's definitely altered. that is, unless there are 2 suns, one that reflects trees onto the water toward the shore, and a separate one that casts human shadows off toward the left. i only mention it b/c i'd love to see a real picture, or better yet, go to a real place, that looks like that.
