Its not that the picture in the backround is upside down its that the drop is upside down. The drop is dripping down from something. The drop reflects the picture upside down so the artist flipped it over to add to the effect of what the drop of water can actually do.

oh! i get it!
at first i thought the point was how pretty the formation of the drops was, then i saw the cube pattern in the last one and had to go back.
i wish i could do something like this…
