What you see here is 3D animated object of impossible crate. Even though it is a computer created picture, it still gives you idea how impossible objects are possible in real life. Don't believe me? Thats, fine. Jump inside this article to see the same object from different angle. Does this help? I found these two images browsing wikipedia for optical illusions. This gave me an idea. Let's make Mighty Optical Illusions wikipedia article! We can discuss this inside our new forum, so drop me a line if you're interested to participate. There are many more impossible objects inside appropriate category. Be sure to check: impossible bottles, unreal objects 1, objects 2 & objects 3, strange world... and much, much more!

That's not an optical illusion, that's an art mistake. Since the Red logs are in the back... Green logs should overlap them, not the other way round.

I don't understand why it's being called an 'optical illusion'

YOU CAN TELL THAT BOTH PHOTOS WERE EDITED IN PHOTOSHOP!!!! JEEZE PEOPLE GET A LIFE!

This is as much an optical illustion as "elephant legs" (which is pretty fun) because at first glance it seems right but upon a second look the mind notices what's wrong with it. Optical Illusions are things that take advantage of how the mind works to hide a particular detail.

Alas, No.. it was not edited in photoshop: it was created, however, by a computer program so it may look like it was edited in Photoshop.

Saying that, cutting off the pieces that are supposed to overlap is a new way of thinking of it. Love it!

of course u can tell it was created in photoshop!!!! thanks for pointing out the obvious

    That's cool!
It is an optical illusion because the green logs are cut where the red logs pass behind them. I wish they would make a real one and not a computerized image.

This is simalar to the 3d challk drawings. Depending on how you look at it it can create an illusion of the red boards crossing over the green broken boards.

So it IS an illusion you wombats!

Some of the works of Escher have been crafted into 3D models that, when viewed from the right spot from one eye, look just like the drawings.

definitely not photoshop. this is easy in a 3d modeling environment.

Had to draw this in 3D using a CAD program- these two pictures gave me the big hint I needed. Thanks!

dude whoever thinks that this is a mistake is wrong u see the green pieces of woods are actually cut in certain areas depending on the angel the picture is shot from the box looks impossible because u see the red pieces of wood through the holes in the green
