Droste Effect Video Clips

The Droste Effect originates from The Dutch Droste company's famous cocoa packaging. The company used it for the first time picturing the nurse on the package that carries a plate with a package, on which there is the same package, etc, etc.. Mike Peter Reed wrote me an email that inspired me for this post. If you jump inside this article you can find a collection of images and animations, made with a "Droste effect" image transformation. Simply click on the image to download the animations. Once you do that, open them in your player and set the to loop infinitely. You can also download a screensaver which displays an animated version of M.C. Escher's Print Gallery drawing. It works on Mac OS X and Windows, and is based on a work done by Hendrik Lenstra and Bart de Smit. Enjoy!
