Here is another classic optical illusion I received lately. You get the opinnion there is line grid presented on top of the purple diamonds. Check again! Lines you see are only illusion your mind made you perceive. It’s simple, yet effective. There are more cool ones in “Bent Lines Category“!

don’t you ever wonder what percent of what we percieve is really there and what percent of it is just what our minds create to äccept¨ reality?

  9. Pandas says:

it is pretty classic. almost boring though cause you can see it in everyday life

  10. Joseph says:

I can see the lines are thy not thete realy?

  11. Captain Ron says:

The whole point of this “illusion,” if it can be called that, is that you can see the diamonds, but they also create squares, basically with black X’s going through their centers. I don’t think this is an illusion, because if you look closely, you can see that the part right after the white center of the diamonds is colored two different colors, creating the feeling that there are both squares and diamonds.

Also, notice the ends of the diamonds do not connect, but rather pass above each other, adding to the appearance of squares.

    Not much of an illusion.

  12. smoky macpot says:

what your mind sees is the squares but there dont really exist. its a giant metaphor for the US government (takes hit of bong)

  13. dethbunny says:

The grid is made of vertical and horizontal lines corresponding to the intersections of the diamonds.

  14. Alok says:

This is a stereogram … diamonds stacked in 3 layers & the middle layer is the deepest …

  15. Jackal says:

Okay look close there are lines that seem to be going through the center of all the diemonds, but threre really is not they are just lind up perfectly

  16. chick says:

At first glance it may look like there are lines but looking closer you can see that different colors match up to create the illusion of the lines. If the same colors aligned with each other, the illusion wouldn’t exist.

  17. qwertyuiop??? says:

Look from far awayish, see the grid made by the shapes. like a chess board type thing…

  18. Lotus450 says:

    “this is crazy man
don’t you ever wonder what percent of what we percieve is really there and what percent of it is just what our minds create to äccept¨ reality?”

“Totally dude.. now pass the bong! ;)”

    don´t bogart that joint my friend… :))

btw: cool illusion – where can i get that for the floor in my bathroom? ;)

  19. Amy says:

The miss-matching of shapes is supposed to make you see lines going through the picture, like a grid you use in art. The illusion is that they’re not really there. Does that help at all?

  20. that gut with a macbook says:

    wow thats………….strange.

  21. Pandas says:

hey, if you cross your eyes at them them so that the first collumn meets up with the third collumn it looks like some of them are 3-d!!!!!
