Hehe this one’s neat! Eventhough stairs go up to an attic, when you look at the end of them, they suddenly appear they are going down to a celler. Or was it the other way arround? I don’t remember :) I had few simmilar ones posted in my outdoors category and mutliple meanings.

It’s going up for sure, the boots give it away.

Yeah i mean like, first time i saw it i never saw the boots. Second time i took a close look then i saw them! People can be tricked tbh.
The boots are a dead giveaway. The door and the wood paneling make it all too obvious. I thought it was just a photo.
The corner of the steps also give away that is going up. There would be bumps at the end of each one.
Not only are the boots a dead giveaway but if you look at the door you can see a number on it which is facing the correct way. Nice try but it didn’t work.
in the explanation, it already says that the stairs go up into an attic, so why bother telling everyone what everyone already knows?
Just enjoy it for what it is and stop picking faults
without the shoes maybe it would be an illusions but with them…
heh cool i can see both…..a little boring…..but i mean, really people, the trick isnt being able to tell which one is real, its being able to see them both! gosh, i really hate when people are all like “haha im so cool i know which one is real”
I can see both but took me a while to find out which way was right though, the lips on the stairs gave it away, pretty cool. For a second i thought they were standing on top of the stairs looking down at them…
woh, thats a pretty cool picture. i wonder how the right angle was found to make that effect on the stairs

This is not an illusion. Whether you go upstairs or downstairs it does not matter. You can still just go upstairs or downstairs.
I don’t think this even qualifies for this site, it is a horrible illusion and everything gives it away, the boots, the light switches, the shadows, and everything else too!!

2. Clearly going up. The things on the side of the wall expose it as an stairway leading upwards.

Argh you idiots, stop debating if it’s going up or not, that’s not the point of the photo. If you try, it can be made to look like it is doing either which is actually what the whole point of the photo is! Otherwise it is just a normal staircase, god

When you look at the stairs, they look like they are going down, but the objects around the stairs make it obvious that it is going up.

If I look at the bottom part of the picture, I can tell it’s a stairway going, up, but when I look at the top, it looks like it’s going down!
