What you see here is an LP cover from Andrew Gold’s album. There are 32 things wrong about this picture, even though everything appears normal. I haven’t found all of them by far! Some of the most obvious ones are the drapes moving in front of the closed window, the horizon is different in the two windows, not all legs of his chair touch the ground … Now it’s your turn! Can you find them all? If you do please post one at the time, so others can post their findings too!

If you like thinking and spotting stuff, here are some similar illusions: Something Wrong, Strange Room, Virgin’s 75 Bands, Lovefilm’s 100 Movies, Lonely Planet’s 45 Cities, M&M’s 50 Dark Movies, Absolut’s 82 Vodka Bottles, … from spot the object category.

Hi, I might be wrong, but it seems as though the reflection in the mirror of the door and the jacket hanging on the wall next to it is not consistent with the angle in real life.

In line with everything I know about musicians, the appartment, even with its current discrepancies, does not have the character and soul (AKA untidy S-Pot) typical of all famous artists.

that is a larger version of the illusion. look at the wall between the windows, there is a painting of an african male cracking a whip. the whip goes beyond the limits of the frame. you need to zoom in to see it on the larger version provided ^^

  32. dmail says:

there is a stereo receiver to his left (viewers right). what is it standing on?

  33. Kenny says:

The plants seem to be in front of the tv, yet the tv cord runs in front of the plant.

shoes are on the wrong foot

  35. Anonymous says:

There’s no reflection of the chair in the mirror!

  36. Anonymous says:

There’s a left hand coming through the floor below the CD collection and to the right of the wine bottle on the table.

  37. Anonymous says:

The chair he’s sitting on only has 3 legs.

  38. Anon says:

The liquid in the bottle appears to be clear, but the glass is filled with wine. Maybe the bottle is just empty or maybe I’m just seeing things…

  39. Robert Williams says:

The wine he is drinking from the glass is red but the bottle looks like it has white wine in it.

  40. Ciara says:

White wine bottle red wine in glass. Curtains blowing but window closed

  41. Matt says:

The mirror shows the coat on the wall on the far side of the door, when it is actualy on this side of it.

  42. Anonymous says:

The two front legs of the chair are floating

  43. Jake says:

He only has 3 fingers on his right hand, and the left side of the left window frame is too wide.

  44. Bam says:

The candle is melting dark wax, there looks to be a hot dog in his hamburger bun, and his shoe is tied at the bottom!

  45. Smuve says:

the drapes aren’t hung correct. one pair seems to be an inch or two lower or higher than the one on the other window.

  46. draven says:

    here is all revealed problems:
The curtains in front of the closed window are blowing in the wind, while those in front of the open window are hanging straight.
The horizon visible through the left window is higher than that visible through the right one.
The waves visible through the left window cannot be seen through the right one.
The door frame is not square. The top piece extends too far to the left.
The legs on the chair next to the door are not touching the floor.
The cord leading from the electric guitar on the floor runs to the telephone instead of a wall jack.
The wine glass contains red wine, while the wine bottle contains white wine.
The left front leg of the guitarist’s chair doesn’t touch the floor.
The open window sashes are upside down.
The white candle beneath the mirror is “melting” dark wax.
The calendar in front of the candle shows the date as November 31; but November only contains 30 days.
The wall plug on the wall next to the “floating chair” has a plug with no wire connected to it.
The guitarist’s right shoelace is tied just above his toes rather than next to his ankle.
The game board beneath the open window has chessmen lined up on the left side, and checkers on the right.
The reel to reel tape deck in front of the closed window has a 45 rpm record instead of a reel of tape.
The turntable beneath the closed window contains a reel of tape instead of a 33 rpm record.
The mirrored reflection of the hanging coat shows the initials AG, but they should appear as a “mirror image”.
In addition to an orange and two apples, the fruit bowl on the bottom shelf of the table containing the wine appears to hold a softball.
The unused coat hook on the wall next to the door is mounted upside down.
The hamburger bun between the wine glass and the wine bottle contains a hotdog.
The doorbell is on the interior door frame rather than outside the room.
The walls of the room appear to be covered with exterior rather than interior plaster.
The palm-like plant to the left of the “wine” table does not appear to be planted in the pot beneath it.
The “shade” on the floor lamp in front of the open window appears to either be upside down or a bowl.
There appear to be odd things on top of the stereo receiver.
The antenna sitting on top of the TV does not appear to be connected to the antenna wire attached to the upper left back corner of the TV set. That wire appears to lead into a leaf on the plant.
A filtered cigarette is sticking out of the crumpled pack of Camel unfiltered cigarettes lying next to the wine bottle.
There does not appear to be a door knob on the door. The top hinge is visible on its left side, so a door knob should be just to the left and below the spot where the doorbell is shown.
Given the apparent lighting in the room, the shadow of the chair next to the door may not be right.
The floor looks to be sub flooring that should be covered with carpet or hardwood strips.
I’m not sure why there is a double-barreled shotgun propped up in the corner between the door and the mirror.
The apparent deck of cards sitting next to the TV set might have a problem.
The photo on the cover of Andrew Gold’s previous album (visible on the floor leaning against the music bench) might not look as it actually did when sold in stores. Ditto for the cover on the issue of People Magazine that is lying on the floor beneath the TV set. In fact, I’m not sure that Andrew Gold ever appeared on a People Magazine cover.
