These are some of the optical illusions that I received in the past; most of them while enjoying my vacation. All of them were submitted by our loyal users, but weren’t typical for my site. Not to forget about them, I decided to post all of them inside this post. Feel free to comment which one you liked the best, and which one you didn’t quite understand.

I appologise to the Submitters, but these pictures just didn’t made it to their own (sepparate) articles – they weren’t “illusionary” enough. Still, they are really amazing pictures. Not to discurage you, continue to submit your illusions, and we’ll post them in some shape for sure! Be sure to open this article (click on the headder link) to see complete collection. Let’s start:

Lauren Dare: “Hey, I love your site. I thought I might contribute. So I don’t know how much this picture counts as an illusion but I quite like it. It’s just a photoshopped picture my brother put together of him, him, him and him tinkering around our garage.”

Loomz: “Hello! I dont know if this counts as an illusion but this picture was taken at a protest in Lebanon during the period after Rafic Hariri murder. The picture was taken by me off a Nokia cell phone and I think the picture turned out pretty cool if you look at the way the light is kinda in the center of the picture and it was shinning in front of the phone the same time I clicked the capture button. Let me know what you think!”

Paul G. Janzen: “Hi, I love your site. Put it on google personalized home, so I always get the latest illusion. I was trying some software today, and come across this performance tester. I don’t have the fastest computer ever, but when I saw the resulting graphics (the green bars), it appears that they go slightly to the right. But actually they are perfect vertical. Isn’t it interesting?”

Simon Boden: “I was just checking to see if the motorway was clear before going home from work… the webcam’s just happened to catch a bus going past on the roundabout (just out of frame ). It just seemed on first glance that there was a bus blocking the motorway… made a few people here have a closer look.”

Brad Snyder: “Or is this thing moving? The wall in the background. Look at a few different places on the pic and the wall seems to melt… Maybe I just had WAY to much fun in college.”

Alexis López sent in this picture, but to be sincere with you – I really don’t get it! Do you?

Thomas Aceituno sent in this strange truck. Pretty funny one, only not an illusion. Still, I like it very much :)

Ron de Bruijn: “Hey how are. Just recently I took a picture of a rabbit in a tree. Can you see him? Kind regards. PS: no photoshop!”

Dan Lipsitz: “I found a very similar but less intense soccer ball in a building. It appears that a large Soccer Ball falls from the top of the building smashing a parked BMW.”

David Kahan: “I took the following pic during an exhibit. I would comment it as – be carefull where you hang your paintings!. Hope you find it interesting enough to post.”

Anne Neuber: “Hey there! Your site is sooo fascinating that I decided to try some optical illusions on my own! Well I copied the idea of putting a picture on your PC Screen, that it seems to be transparent – like you can see through the screen. But then I made a picture of my boyfriend and brother and made an optical illusion in it. Can you see it? I hope it’s not sooo easy to recognize :-) Solvation! It’s a ghost familie ( woman, child, man ) on the left top of the pic. Hope you enjoy it! Regards”

Chris: “Hi! I don’t know if this fits for your optical illision website, but I found this picture of a cloud that looks like Godzilla. I thought it was pretty neat. I love your website. Keep up the great work!”

J. Jeff Roberts: “I’ve seen this before but enough time had passed that when I saw it linked from reddit.com it took me a while to remember how it works. Here’s the link

Peter K.: “I saw the scarface up on the site before – looks like a complete image but made out of the script.. it was cool.. looks like they just released a rocky out of the script.. i think its way cooler than the scarface.. check it out.. make sure to zoom in…”

Mark Pulley: “I have something which I believe would be appropriate for your site. You can see my website where I will be selling it sometime in the future. It is not a traditional optical illusion. It is an illusion material and can only be seen in person, or video.”

Yeah, I get it. The one goose’s head looks like it could also belong to the goose in the background (giving it a very big head), thanks to the way a straw cuts across.

  2. Step says:

I thought the bus one was the best, it took me several seconds to figure that one out and see it properly – before that it did look like the bus was blocking the highway.

The duck one isn’t bad either. There are three ducks, but only two heads. The two ducks look like they’re sharing a head…

I didn’t get this one. The wall doesn’t seem to be “melting.”

Heh heh heh. Reading the “explanations” submitted by victims of the card trick site is pretty entertaining.

  5. sKriLLz says:

Absolutely. I think they are postings from the author. It only took me about 5 tries to figure it out.

  8. mushhead says:

5 attempts? I worked it out on the first!
He tells you to memorise all the cards, so you should have realised they had all changed as soon as the page changed.

  9. Lynn says:

OK… As for the ESP card guy… I figured it out within two trys. He takes out almost all the cards and replaces then with different ones. Don’t believe me? Check for yourself!

The giant soccer ball killed the car!~! OMG!~! How on earth did that one happen?~? I mean it huge and crushing the car!~! O_o?~?

  16. Me, Myself, and iPod says:

???????????????????????? What’s up with this???? There is like, no illusion here!?!?!?!?!

  17. val says:

In regard to the card trick, after you choose your card, the site simply replaces the 5 cards (including the one you’ve chosen) with 4 cards that are completely different from the first five. Since you were not concentrating on any cards except the one you chose, you can’t detect the difference: try writing down what each card is, then you’ll see that not a single one of the cards you have recorded is still there! Sorry if I spoiled you dreams of esp.

  18. who wants to know says:

for the sixth image the farthest right duck looks like it doesnt have a head

the real illusion is than there are actually three gooses, the “hidden” one is just behind the one in front, you can see its body and legs but the neck and head are covered by the goose in front of it.
    Hope this helped :)
