Simmilar illusions were posted number of times here, on Mighty Optical Illusions. Still I never get tired of user submitted illusions, so here's a new example of Hand inside the Monitor. Harvey Layton, creator of this image said: "Sorry bout the quality of photo. No hands left to take the pic." Can you solve how this one was created?
I bet that this is a simple retouche of a man in front of the laptop and a calculator screenshot cut into that photo... I'll take 'bout 10 min to do that... Really simple Photoshop work...

Oli: More likely (part of) the left hand (and the calculator) are displayed on the computer screen. No Photoshop necessary!
i think the left hand, the calculator and the laptop are a photoshopped picture displayed on a screen. the right hand pointing, is "real". The picture is taken by the left hand.

i think this has been shown too many times lets see something new!
Yeah, these have been floating around for awhile now. Nice wow effect on first glance, but a little more looking reveals some missing details.
Specifically, this would look better (I think) with something actually displayed on the laptop screen, such as the dashboard mode that the hand has 'scooped' the calculator out of....
Poit!
Maybe I'm missing something, but isn't a flash supposed to distribute light on every object in it's path?
This is very basic. It's two pictures and an edited screenshot. The first picture is of the left hand and Macbook Pro (you could have turned it on). The lighting and shadows across the thumb and wrist give this away. The right hand is a separate photo and appears darker and rather out of place. Finally the screenshot of the calculator is layered in between the two pictures.
I don't know why I even bothered to explain that, because you all are intelligent and already knew everything I just said.
Poit!
My mistake, it appears that the computer is in fact on, but is dimmed all the way for some reason. It seems as if you can barely make out part of the dock. Doesn't change how the image was created, but just correcting my comment.

Picture of hand holding nothing set as wallpaper. Open calculator program and place correctly. Real hand on the right. Take picture without monitor edges.
i think the mans left hand is in the picture and the right hand is real so he takes the pic with his left hand

Just check the color tones of the left and the right arms and hands. The difference between their tones suggests they have been captured at different instances.

what in the world! IT LOOKS LIKE A MONKEY!!!! =^.^=

It is SO simple people!!! The man is holding a REAL calculator and the screen behind it is black!!! And that's also why there can't be a desktop behind because then it would look really fakey!!!

There are a two pictures in there: That is why the pigments in the hand are different colors and sizes. 1. PICTURE A He took a picture of his left hand (and part of his left arm) as if he were holding something. 2. He put that on his laptop and set it as his background. 3. He pulled up calculator in front of the picture of his hand. 4. PICTURE B (what you are looking at) He pointed at it with his right hand while taking a picture with his left hand.
In picture A there is only a left hand on black background. In picture B there is Picture A on a desktop, a laptop, and a right hand.
No photoshop. No physical calculator. No extra person.

CHANGED MY MIND AGAIN-THIS 1 IS FOR REAL!
1st, he took a picture of his left hand with his right hand in front of his computer with a black screen as his desktop. He made sure to show the whole laptop.
2nd, he set that picture as his desktop.
3rd, he pulled up his dashboard and placed his calculator widget in front of the picture of his left hand.
4th, he pointed to the calculator widget with his right hand while taking the picture with is left hand.
5th He might have cropped it if the border of the physical laptop was showing so that you could not see the border of the physical laptop.
That is why the colors or the hand are different size and colors and the calculator does not line up with what you think is the laptop (because its a calculator on the laptop picture as the desktop).
The icons are dark on the bottom because it is on his dashboard. And, that is why calculator is orange-it is a widget.

ceanne is right, i think, though a phisical calculator is a possibility.

Ok, call me stupid, but I think he's just holding a normal calcualator in front of his laptop and has stuck it on with double-sided tape! This illusion would have been more believable if his computer was actually switched on! Thats just my opinion

ok i think either he took a picture of the calculator on dashboard (cntrl+shift-4) and printed it out, or he took a picture of his hands in front of the computer like that and a picture of just the computer and photoshopped them together so that only the calculator came out of the computer screen. its very simple, really.

Okay, some of you have it right, I do not think it was photoshopped, this is what I think happened.
1. with the laptop off, take a picture of your left hand in front of a black screen (with the laptop edges in view).
2. set the picture to your background.
3. open the calculator program and position the window so it looks like the picture of your left hand is holding it.
4. point at the calculator with your right hand, and take the picture with your left hand(without the edges of the monitor visible).
simple! no photoshop, no physical calculator.
