Freedom from being shelled regularly without provocation, freedom from having 12 seconds to run to shelter when the warning sirens go off (what kind of life is that for kids?) In the US we send babies home with bottles and blanket and formula while in Israel each newborn gets a gas mask!! If you live in a border settlement you have to have a bomb shelter in your home. Israel has faithfully sent humanitarian supplies into Gaza, it is the settlers Arab "brothers" who have rejected them. If there is so much genuine concern for the "Palestinians" to have their own country, then why can't the countries of Egypt and Jordan give up portions of their land? It would be brother taking care of brother and all would be well. However the surrounding Arab nations don't give a hoot about the refugees and the goal is to destroy Israel. Israel will be battered, but she will not be destroyed and ultimately it will not go well for the nations who come against her.
