Look what just came in… All the way from Portugal beach! Luis Galhardo, and his brother (also Galhardo, I suppose :) made this funny optical illusion and decided to share it with our community! Just in time for our millionth visitor to see it! Luis also wrote a note: “I´ve just discovered your site and love it. I send you a picture of me and my brother that can, maybe, be appropriate for your site!”

faaaaake, easy to do, just get a partner with the same skin tone as u and have them bury themselves in the sand w/ their head sticking out. then u lay flat and all the camera guy has to do is avoid taking a picture of your head! fake, but funny -__-

Nobody reads explanations anymore?! It says there that it´s me and my brother ( 1 + 1 = 2 ). It´s obvious it´s 2 persons and nobody fooled no one with that! And it was much easier to get buried than unburied.

You don’t have to dig a whole the size of an entire body standing up to get this effect. He is probably sitting. There is a whole dug out behind the head of the man lying down so that his head is not seen at all and his arm is waaaay up high so it looks as though it is touching his brother’s head, but it is really far behind it. I would like to encourage everyone here to take one class in perspective drawing and for goodness sake, go play in the sand somewhere.

I really don’t understand why theres so much raving about the “fakeness”…yes its fake its not meant to be real…I was under the impression that “optical illusions” are the effects your brain registers at first sight…I think everyone sees the effect in that first second or two before they realize that it’s fake…after that it’s no longer an illusion and thats the beauty of it :)
