Santa Claus Optical Illusion

This one was submitted by user called Sergio, and the image is originally created by CoolOpticalIllusions. Apparently, if you focus your eyes on this image for minute or so, and then look away and starre at the sheet of paper or some other white surface, you'll see Santa Claus, wearing his usual red cloathes and white beard. Try it and feel free to post if it worked for you aswell as it did for me! The principle is the same as "American Flag Illusion", "Jesus Illusion", "Batman Logo"...

  3. Anonymous Cabal

    Didn't work for me :(

Not even a blurry out-focused red stain. I guess my eyes don't work with blue negative pictures.

Black and white, tho, is a must :)

But if you copy the picture and paste it into paint then go to image > invert colors it shows the picture the way you should see it on the wall.

so technically, wouldnt this trick work with any negative shape or most images? interesting how the eye works.

  27. Anonymous Anonymous

goSh im ScareD GRRRR.but it does'nt work..

  28. Blogger Matt

I did see a faint red outline but something more interesting caught my eye. When I started to look at the negative image, I widened my eyes a little and sort of focused slightly away from the image, but could still see it if you know what I mean. Then i saw what appeared to be a very menacing man with evil eyes staring up towards the camera. Its complicated but basically santas glove became the mans shoulder and arm, and santas eyes were the mans eyes, because his head was at an odd angle. Sorry for the long comment but it was weird

All i saw was bob barker from "price is right" and a mixture of David Spade And K-fed and maybe a bit of the kid in the middle from the "Chapman's Icecream" container. Oh yah i almost forgot it sorta had the face of one of the kids from "The Brady Bunch"

It didn't work for me, but I don't know if I stared at it for long enough. Can I just say that if you look at his eyes....well, the one that is open more than the other SCARES ME!!!

  39. Blogger chawki

    it didn't work sorry

  40. Anonymous Anonymous

the reason that you see red is because if you invert the colours, turquoise = red, and black = white, and when you stare at something, then you look at a piece of paper, the colours invert into the right colour (which is red and white of santa claus)
