Relative Sizes Category contains illusions that trick the eye into believing objects are smaller or greater than their original size. In other illusions, the dimension of objects stays the same, while our brain perceives they're being changed - growing or shrinking.

Beer glass / coffee cup illusion

Probably this is well known, but I haven't seen it described before, and it is a robust illusion easily observed with ordinary objects.

Many restaurant cups and glasses are flared -- the bottom is a small circle, the top is a larger one. This really makes them seem taller than they are. Take a straw or a fork which is actually a bit taller than the glass or cup, hold it horizontally, and ask people which is taller. The straw or fork will look decidedly shorter.
