It is not fake… people who say its fake dun get the illusion… you are not supposed to see it turn into black and white, its supposed to look like colour when you change it to black and white.

Basically it works by “tiring out” your oppositely colour sensing neurons. What happerns is, for example, you tire out your orange sensing nuerons. then when it turns greyish, both your blue AND orange neurons fire, but since your orange neurons are tired, you only “see” blue.

something liddat… if i’m not wrong this would work with any negative-> greyscale picture…

BTW, there are no orange sensing neurons, its actually a combination of colours but the explanation is simplified…

Black & White. You’re supposed to see it in full color, that’s the illusion.

very cool :) i cant see the colour on the mountains very well when it changes to the black and white but i can definately see the blue sky
