Perspection Effect Illusion

One of our faithfull visitors, Leo Sakari submitted this awesome optical illusion. We had simmilar ones in the past, like: "Two Monoliths", "Flowers", "2 Arrows", "Lines in a street", "Soldiers", "Lines no.2"... but in a way, I think this one shows you the best how your eyes & brain can decive you! This is the description of following illusion: "The black (bold) line in the back seems much longer than the one in the front because your brain assumes it is seeing the effect of perspective. When the background is removed, the lines are seen to be equal".

The two dark lines are the same length.

I had to get out the ruler to make sure they are the same size, I still find it pretty hard to believe just by looking at it that they are.
